Recall the last time you had a simple carb that kept you full for hours?…No you probably can’t!

Bulletproof coffee is a hot beverage where your coffee is mixed with a healthy fat to create a delicious satisfying drink that will keep you full and satiated for hours. Commonly, fats such as coconut milk and organic butter from grass fed cows are used. The fat in bulletproof coffee helps to get your daily healthy fats intake to help keep your energy levels high and steady, the caffeine in your brew helps for a cognitive pick me up.

Fat is satiating in a way that carbs can never be!

Bulletproof coffee is often used as part of a low-carb diet. Oftentimes referred to as the “keto diet”, which is somewhat similar to the Paleolithic diet.

When following the keto diet, you need to eat a lot of fat, little carbohydrates and a lot of protein. The goal of the keto diet is to get most of your calories from fat. This teaches your body to burn fat rather than carbohydrates. Getting in all the fat that is required is often difficult, so in that context, bulletproof coffee is a great delivery method.

The Paleo diet, also called the caveman diet or stone-age diet is based on foods known to have been available to Paleolithic humans. The notion is that our digestive abilities have not changed so much since Paleolithic times and our bodies do better with seafood and lean meat, fruits, vegetables, and nuts and seeds and includes no dairy, no grains or legumes. The Paleo diet also teaches your body to process fat for energy instead of carbs.

The keto diet requires you to get your body into a state of ketosis, where most of the energy in the body is produced by processing fat instead of carbohydrates. You can do this by cutting out as many processed carbohydrates as possible out of your diet in order to aid your body into doing this.

Coffee as you probably know has lots of benefits and can help you have a sharper focus throughout the day. Sounds good to us!

My Immersion Blender is my go to tool for making bulletproof coffee. As you can imagine, plop a tablespoon of butter in your coffee cup and you will end up with an oil slick on top of your brew. Blend these 2 simple ingredients with your immersion blender however, you will end up with a delicious, creamy, frothy coffee.

I like to start with a nice 8 oz cup of strong coffee and use my Braun Multiquick 5 Hand Blender to whip up 2 tablespoons of full fat coconut milk. This combination will make you forget your old loaded with sugar creamer in a heartbeat!
